So could Thanos beat the tar out of Superman. Yes...if he had the Infinity Gauntlet. I'm sure he would just turn the nearest objects around himself into Kryptonite to kill Superman...game over. If Thanos does not have Kryptonite, I think Superman stands a good chance if he does not hold back.
