Mugen Tools - Ultimate Installer

"With this program you can install Chars, stages and Screen Packs [SP] in your Mugen folder, only select the winrar supported files or Drop into the program, select the type file [char, stage or SP] and install into mugen.
You can change folder's name to unrar"
This tool is more like what I imagined when I wrote my own tool to manage mugen files. This program is great and interactive, mine is a bit more on the autonomous side - set it up and forget it. Another difference is mine requires a more careful set up and strategy to setting up your archived files. The Ultimate Installer is great even if you don't have a coherent filing system to bingwith.

Mugen Tools: Mugen Bound Calculator

I just found out about this too. It makes creating stages a little easier. Here is the information given:
With Mugen Bound Calculator You can calculate the "bound" for the stages of the mugen and besides the complete code can be gotten for the file def.
All it takes is inserting the width and the height of your stage and all is done.
Besides I want that you notice that if your stage is composed from an only image with this tool you can do a complete stage in minutes considering that it also suggests the positioning of the axis.
For instance if you have an image (in indexd color obviously eheh) of 640 for 480 pixels my tool it will tell you in that axis needs to line up it in your file sff (what you must compile byeyourself) and the bound....
In the site you will also find the old version offline of the bound (I must update it but works corretly).
Now go to make all the stages that want.

Mugen Tools - Select Manager

The Select Manager is a cool tool. If you have a lot of characters and stages for MUGEN and you need to make smaller games on the fly containing several different combinations this tool is for you. You drop it into your mugen main folder for the game you are making. You put the characters, stages, and sounds in their respective folders. The Select Manager is then used to to generate a new "Select.def" file so you can put it into your Data folder and use it. It even allows you to tweak many of the options you set in the Select folder. My only complaint about it is that it doesn't seem to allow you to select out specific charcter/stages in the Mugen Directory. Instead it takes everything in the directory. My other peeve is that it doesn't seem to work for the Everything Vs Everything screenpack. I think that this tool is worth your time.

Getting Started With Mugen

I've gotten a couple of requests on my YouTube channel for information on how to get started in Mugen. I have been studying Mugen for the past 19 months. I've learned a lot. Everything you need is on the Internet even tutorials. In my research I have found some rumors that Mugen is dead and no one is doing anything new with it. This is not true in the slightest. One of the things that I like the most about Mugen is that it's truly international. You have development of characters, stages, and tools going on all over the planet: United States, France, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Philippines, and many other countries. And the work being done is truely exceptional! So here are some sites that I would suggest newbies would visit to learn how to put mugen games together, pre-made games to downloads, and great places to find characters.
Resources
http://mugen.en.softonic.com/ - is where you need to go to find the mugen game engine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.U.G.E.N - is where you need to go for general information.
Fighter Factory - is where you need to download a great program for designing your own mugen characters, very visual, and more like an Integrated Development Environment
Mugen Editing Ensemble - is another software suite for making mugen characters
Mugen.cfg File Editor for Windows - cfg files are configuration files for mugen games, this tool allows easy editing of that file.
Open Mugen 1.1 - Another version of the Mugen version with open source code.

Pre-Made Mugen Games
The Infinity Mugen Team has a pre-made mugen game that you can download and play if you don't want to build your own. I'm downloading it from their website now: http://www.infintymugenteam.com; I've download previous versions of the game before and have been quite satisfied. One of the members of Infinity Mugen Team, DarkTalbain, has posted a video showing the game's select screen. It's amazing.

A Mugen Tool

I have about 1000 mugen characters and sometimes I like to mix up and change my rosters. It's not easy to unzip the engine, character, screenpacks, and stages by hand, and then make the hand edits to the files for my preferences. I could not find a tool to do it for me so I wrote one in VB.Net. It allows a user to build instances of Mugen in lots of customizable ways:
1. You can choose the screenpack from a directory called "ScreenPacks".
2. Just place all the stages you want into a directory called stages.
3. Characters into a directory called "Characters".
4. Each of these directories must be in the same directory.
5. The content may be compressed into Winzip or WinRAR files....does not matter.
6. When the Program is done, a fully usable game is available.
Here is a video of the program in action building a game using the "Fighting Jam" screen pack and just my Marvel and DC Characters. The video also shows the file structure of the source material. On my main blog I will make a post later with a detailed user's guide. If anyone is interested in the software or has a suggestion of features or questions of any kind, just let me know.
