Grudge Match: Namor vs Thor

So who would win? Could Namor beat Thor? I think that given Namor gets stronger by making it rain, I think it might be a mistake if Thor made it rain. Still, I don't think that it would be enough to beat Thor. However, I decided to try it out in MUGEN.

Comic Con 2010 Announcements: Spider-Man, Thor, & Marvel vs Capcom 3

I'm sure everyone who reads this blogs know that Comic Con 2010 is taking place in San Diego, California this weekend. While it is true that I cannot be there, a steady stream of information is coming out from a variety of sources. I'm trying to find everything I can get my hands on. I'm posting a lot of it on my Favorite Media blog in case you might be interested. The following is too good not to share!

Grudge Match: He-Man vs Thor

I've got to call this one on Thor all the way. First, He-Man could not use Thor's Hammer or even pick it up Second, although both have magic powers, I think Asgardian magic will beat He-Man's.

Grudge Match - Supergirl vs Thor

Now here is a fight I would love to see: Thor vs Supergirl. I think Thor would destroy her because of his battle-hardened skills and he using Magic. Supergirl's powers mean squat against magic. Here is a possible scenario in MUGEN.

Grudge Match:Thor vs Juggernaut

I really don't think Juggernaut has a chance at beating Thor  But I wanted to stage a scenario in MUGEN anyway!

Grudge Match: Thor vs Etrigan

Let's see they both have magical powers and they are both immensely powerful, who would win - Etrigan or Thor. Thor eats demons for breakfast so I think he would ultimately beat Etrigan...badly. I decided to try to see how such a fight would play out in MUGEN.

Grudge Match: Batman & Superman vs Captain America & Thor

I think a two-on-two battle royal between Batman and Superman versus Captain America and Thor would be epic. Ijavascript:void(0) think either side could win. This is too close to call. I mean that as long as Thor stayed on Superman, Captain America would be able to challenge and perhaps even beat Batman. I decided to stage couple of fights in MUGEN. I used the same versions of Thor (Loganir), Superman (kal-el), and Captain America (MVC2), but I used Spiderbat's Batman in the first one and Alucard's Batman in the first one.

Grudge Match: Thor vs Hercules

One of the greatest rivalries in Marvel Comics is Thor vs Hercules! I like to watch these two dust up whenever possible. I think the reason why their struggle is so iconic is that both characters go back so far into cultural identity and history. I mean Thor comes from Norse mythology and Hercules from Hellenistic mythology! I mean what's more iconic than the "my god is better than your god' argument? In a fight, I'd put my money on Thor. I think Thor would wipe Asgard, Midgard, Valhalla, Olympus, and Hades with Hercules backside.

Survive This: Thor

Here is a Loganir's Thor in Mugen Survival mode. I like using this one. Quick. Responsive. Fun. And I've always been able to use him fairly effectively. I just didn't get the chance to pull all of my favorite moves.

Grudge Match: Thor vs Sentry

When I did a post for Superman vs Sentry, someone on YouTube requested a fight between Thor and Sentry. I thought it was a brilliant suggestion. I'm not sure how often they've thrown down in the books but such a fight would have to be legendary. I think that the truth is that in a true fight Sentry would beat Thor to a pulp. I mean Thor's hammer is magic and all but Sentry did beat the Hulk and the Hulk has beaten the tar out of Thor! I think in terms of physical strength and durability they are probably equal.

Grudge Match: Superman vs Thor

I would love to see an animated Superman and Thor fight. That would be awesome. For now, I will contend myself with Mugen. However because Superman's powers do squat to protect him from magic,I think it would be a long, protracted battle between the two. They both get fatigued and I think that they both have the same level of strength. Lightning and Rain would do squat against Superman, so Thor would have to hit him with that hammer and hit him a lot which could prove difficult because of Superman's speed but not impossible. I think eventually Thor would prevail by knocking Superman unconscious. I found a website where many fans actually voice their opinions and a fan-fiction, moderated, fight is published. As for the mugen battles, I staged, I pitted Hannibal and Kal Elvis' Superman Remix against Loganir's Thor. Fun, Fun. I first let them battle it out with both computer controlled and then with me controlling Superman. Here is the fight!

Hulk Vs Review

Well I got the Hulk Vs DVD and I've got to admit that it was great! I loved it. They were great stand-alone stories. To be honest, I liked the Wolverine story better because I think Wolverine was captured perfectly as well as the Hulk. Wolverine took a huge beating but he gave as good as he got. I thought Thor was too wussy. He got his can kicked and handed back to him a lot more than I expected.

I believe that I would say that the Hulk won both battles on the DVD and he fought more than just Thor and Wolverine. He fought all of Weapon X and the army of Asgardians and beat all of them.

Grudge Match: Thor Vs Hulk

Now, here is a rivalry that really started at the beginning of the Marvel Universe as we know it. Thor and Hulk have traded smackdowns for years. Everyone has an opinion about who would win. It is always fun to watch Hulk fight Thor. It never seems to get old to me. In honor of the new Hulk Vs DVD, I thought I'd stage a fight in mugen. The is Loganir's and BlackDragon's Thor against Mgmurrow's Hulk. Both characters are AI controlled at a setting of "4". As to my opinion, I think that the Hulk could really ultimately beat Thor under most circumstances. Of course, it would be a long protracted battle and not something either would be able to walk away from unscathed.

Mugen: Thor

Thor is an interesting fictional character. He isn't just a comic book character. About 1000 years ago, Thor was literally worshiped by the Vikings. And to this day, he is still remembered. "Thursday" is named after him. Mythologies continue with us today. In the Marvel Universe, the Norse Gods (Viking Mythology), Greeco/Roman Mythology coexist and interact with all the other characters. In fact Thor is a founding member of the Avengers and one of their heaviest hitters. Anyone who can go toe-to-toe with the Hulk is no light-weight. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created the Marvel Comics incarnation of Thor and used many elements from the old myths because no one had done it before with Norse mythology. There is much that can be said about the theology behind Norse mythology compared and contrasted with the truths found in the Bible but I'll save that. There is only one definitive version of Thor for mugen. It is awesome and fun to play. You have all of Thor's powers from the comics. In addition, Thor is part of the Scruffy Dragon Marvel vs DC project and if he is fighting the Wonder Woman (reloaded) character, her win pose if cool if she wins. Both that version of Wonder Woman and Thor have the same mugen creators. They do excellent work. There is going to be another version with another costume by the Lethal Mugen Team But i don't know when it will be out

This character is extremely well-rounded. It's really fun to use and makes you feel like you are really Thor.
