Grudge Match: Steel vs Superman

Although Superman and Steel are friends, I just wanted to see what would happen if the MUGEN characters fought one another.

Mugen: Green Arrow Master List

I have done multiple posts for Green Arrow in Mugen but with the release of ZVitor's classic version I thought that it would be best to post a list showing all the versions of the character in MUGEN.

It's tough to choose between the either version of ZVitor's version of Green Arrow because both are fun. The classic version (the last one on my list) is real interesting because it allows you to use trick arrows that affect other characters differently. I decided to see which version would win if pitted against one another

The order in the poll matches the order in the table above.

Grudge Match: Joker vs Rorshach

Joker (comics)Image via Wikipedia

I like Rorschach. I really do, but when it comes down to who would be doing smacking if he fought the Joker, I have to give it to the Joker. No way could Rorschach win. Rorschach is numb to violence, who believes that the he must do the right thing no matter what. The Joker is amoral. He has no such compunctions He is worse than any criminal Rorschach has ever faced. I'm sorry but there is no way Rorschach could win this one.

Mugen: Andy Bogard

I found a pretty cool version of Andy Bogard from SNK's Fatal Fury and King of Fighters games. I like Andy, but I think his brother Terry gets more attention. There is one way that Andy is more cool than Terry: Mai is his girlfriend. Andy wins!

Grudge Match: Ella vs Joker

Batman Arkham Asylum ArtworksImage by Littlebigplanet-forum via Flickr

So who would win if the Joker fought that girl from The Ring? I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that she doesn't scare the Joker. As a matter of fact, I think he'd try to date her, if not marry her and then try to kill her. She seems completely otherworldly and supernatural. When you come right down to it the Joker is just man...a psychopath and a sociopath...but still a man. I think she'd end up killing him. This video star's ALEXZIQ 's latest Joker. Here is the video

Mugen: Guyver Master List

I really Like the Guyver anime. I love the idea of armor

Bio Booster Armor GuyverImage via Wikipedia

that is just as organic as it is technological. I certainly see some great benefits to such technology and I think that is where things are going in real-life science. There are two versions of the character I found in MUGEN. Which one do you like most. In my opinion, Ultimate Guyver is the best of the two.

Mugen: Firestorm

Firestorm (comics)Image via Wikipedia

Firestorm is a fantastic character. I first heard of him in 1984 watching "Superpowers Team" on Saturday Mornings. The idea of him being a teenager that merged with his teacher was amazing to me. His abilities to transmute matter to whatever he can imagine easily puts him into the same class as Superman and the Green Lanterns. Finally he exists in MUGEN by jhfer. Jfher does a great job of putting you into Firestorms boots. It is really fun playing with him. Download

Please note before I get any angry comments I don't know where Madcook's version came from. If you know feel free to leave the information. However ZVitor's and Wil.li.an's is the version I would pick if I only could have one version. I also love JohnnyDC version. I really like these characters. It's fun to see one of my favorite characters getting so much attention. My favorite move is when the CVG version allows you to make a tank and blast your opponent. Here is a video demo of the the ZVitor/Wil.li.an version

Grudge Match: Steel vs War Machine

This would be a great fight you have to admit. What would really happen if Steel fought War Machine. In my opinion War Machine has the edge because of his military experience. He's an expert in combat. War Machine also has more weapons on his armor than Steel. So I'm sorry to say, I think that if War Machine hit Still hard and quickly, Steel would loose. Here are a couple of fights I stages in MUGEN.

Mugen: Deejay

DeeJay is an awesome character that I have really enjoyed using for a long time - way back with Super Street Fighter II. I had never seen capoeira - the Afro-Carribean martial art - captured in as video game before. I love using him. He has powerful kicks and grapple moves. Thankfully there are at least 2 versions of him in MUGEN.

The last version on my list is the one to add to your mugen. It is a lot of fun and I really liked fighting with it. It reminded me of what it feels like to play with Deejay in the Street Fighter games.

Grudge Match: Steel vs Iron Man

I admit I'm torn. It's hard for me to pick who would win in fight between Steel and Iron Man.I love both characters. It would be an awesome fight. I'm just not sure who to root for.

Here is a great exploration of what such a fight could look like at CBUB Fights. Here is my video fights with both characters computer controlled.

Mugen: Joker

As it was announced last Thursday, ALEXZIQ released the Joker. It's the4 best Joker I have ever played for MUGEN. It's based on the look of Joker from Batman: The Animated Series. My favorite move are the ones when Joker uses the playing cards like knives.

I also like the throwing of fish like ninja stars. I also love the "Joker-in-the-Box" move. He has so many different moves and weapons. This is a must have.

CVG United Preview Week Closing

"Thank you All!"

What a great final day, first you get one amazing character courtesy of wil.li.an and ZVitor. That is then followed up by a great video by Spooky77 (with a little help from ALEXZIQ on Havok) that showed off some things you have never seen before, but will hear more about in the future.

Find the discussion on John Stewart's release here, as well as the download location

There are many people to thank in making this event a success, but the most important person to thank, is you, the people that came and actually previewed things for Preview Week. Without your coming to check things out, it would not have meant as much to Team CVG and our community. We do hope that what you saw impressed you enough to want to join our community even after the preview feature for guests is turned off.

And on that note, the forum will remain open for a couple more days so as the people that have not taken the opportunity to check things out and download whatever, can still do so. But when that period is over, it will all go to members only once again. We do have plans to make the download section available for non members, but that takes a little bit of coding still just so you know, so there will be a short period of adjustment to that.

Anyway, back to the thank you's, as there are some people that need to be recognized a little more. Obviously we first need to thank the Team CVG members who went a little above and beyond. They include:

- ALEXZIQ for his release of Joker TAS, showing off the Legends of the Dark Knight Video, making the Bane teaser video, and the clip of Havok for the Crisis video. He also allowed us to host another great character in Harley Quinn

- Spooky77 for making that Crisis video and doing numerous behind the scenes things with the website to make the event happen. He also did a bit of work on Pitt and Spawn so they could be seen in that same video

- wil.li.an for working so hard on an amazing Green Lantern John Stewart that definitely met all of our expectations as an amazing release. He also helped us preview a character you will find out more about in the future in Hellboy

- Jmaxximus for his work on Bane so as the two videos you got peeks of him in could happen

- andersontavers for his work on Hercules that spotlighted in the Crisis video

- bdcirck for all the work on Kl'rt he has done and for allowing that sneak teaser of him from a still top secret project

- youngdragun for his release of the Ultimate Guyver beta and show you all that we do more than just comic creations

- Big Boss for his release of the X-Men Origins Wolverine Movie stage

- flamekyo for his quick work and release of Steel's Weapons Research Lab stage

- thx1138, a new team member, for showing off his Batgirl WIP

- Shulbocka for his hard work on putting those portraits together for the Marvel and DC portrait pack release

- And to the rest of the Team CVG members who just did whatever to keep a spotlight on all of the happenings during the event

But that is not all, we had much help from outside sources too that helped make the event that much more.

- Bizarro_Toro for getting things off to a great start in allowing us to host his awesome John Henry Irons Steel Character

- jhfer for releasing his Firestorm Beta in conjunction with our event and allowing us to host him as well. He also granted us hosting rights to his Firestar.

- Ultraroboninja for allowing us to host his two great bonus games

- Reza for making that video that previewed all of the work he's been doing on his Cyclops for a future release

- Vladnesas for making a pair of preview videos of future Crisis character Shazam and a character we will host later on in Metal Slug's Big Boy

- Cormano for his hard work on the sprite editing of Isaiah Bradley

- TeamOmegaPwnageSupreme (TOPS) for not only making that great video of Duke Nukem 2.0 that is coming soon (and to be hosted here) but for also granting us hosting rights to all of their character creations. You can currently get Duke Nukem 1.0 and Silver Surfer in the Crisis characters section, but look for others in the future

- Now to all the creators who granted us access to allowing either their current WIP or already released characters in the Crisis project which we announced on Day 1: Nestor and the CFAS team for multiple characters, Kratos and DooM for their Kratos God of War WIP, Sean Altly for Solid Snake (and Rorschach before that), Topper for Hawkgirl, Tooya/jr6 for Dark Phoenix (wil.li.an is now also attached to her), and XsLaught for Sentinel.

And finally ZVitor. He has done so much for this event and in general that he deserves a little more discussion. His great help started off long ago for allowing his Hawkman WIP, Aquaman, Green Arrow 2.0, and Spiderman in the Crisis project as 3rd party contributions. But it was this week that his great help really shined through. You all know about the awesome coding work he did with Green Lantern John Stewart that made wil.li.an's sprite work stand out that much more for a truly outstanding character. But the biggest surprise was Isaiah Bradley. We were already blessed with his and Cormano's permission to add such an awesome character to the Crisis project. The surprise came with the beta release of him. None of us had any idea this would happen. We thought he would make a preview video for us and instead faked us all out with the beta release of Isaiah. He did this as just a gift to us all and to make Preview Week stand out that much more. It was the Isaiah Bradley and John Stewart Days that saw the most traffic come our way and helped set an all time high for us in users online, first at 92 for Isaiah, then 107 for John Stewart. These efforts made us want to appreciate Zvitor that much more and we granted him his own membership group of M.U.G.E.N Superhero in his favorite color of orange. On behalf of Team CVG and the Community, we greatly thank you.
