Grudge Match: Green Goblin vs Venom

As far as I can remember this matchup has never happened in the comic books, yet I still wonder what would happen if the Green Goblin fought Venom. I mean it's obvious what they would fight over...who would have the most right kill Spider-man. Venom wants to eat Spider-man's brains and Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) wants to prove that he is smarter and more powerful than Spider-man. Who ever wins, Spider-man would have his work cut out for him because both of these guys hate him. In my opinion, Venom would win in a real fight. Here is the fight in MUGEN.

Survive This: ZVitor's Spider-man

I'm announcing a new post type for the bog: Survive This. The idea is that I pick a character from my Mugen and fight the survival mode to see how well I do. I thought I'd try this out to see if it would be fun for me and readers. In order to make things more interactive, feel free to post links to your own runs in survival mode using rhe same character. This time, I'm using ZVitor's Spider-man! I really need more practice with the character so I will probably be doing another one of these.

Mugen: Pyro

Pyro is not the Human Torch, but he does have cool mutant power - pyrokinesis. In other words he can control fire with his mind. It's a fairly useful power. However, he is usually depicted working with Magneto against the X-Men. What a waste. The mugen version of the character is great. Here is a demo.

Grudge Match: Superman vs Lex Luthor

It's interesting to me that as powerful as Superman is his greatest enemy is just a really smart guy who wants to rule the world. Luthor has no powers on his own. The mugen version of Luthor is based on the time when the character used armor to fight Superman on a more equal physical level. By and large I expect Superman to find a way to win no matter what Lex Luthor pulls. Here is a fight staged in MUGEN.

Mugen: Banshee

I've always thought of Banshee as an interesting member of the X-men. In animation he has never appeared a full member of the team, and I don't think think that he was a member of the team for very long. I really enjoyed his stint as mentor and teacher to Generation X. His powers are cool. Sonic energy blasts are cool. He is not as powerful as Blackbolt but Banshee is still cool. Acey had done a marvelous job adapting him for MUGEN. Grudge Match: Spider-man vs Green Goblin

One of the greatest rivalries in the Marvel Universe, may be in all of fiction, is the fight between Spider-man and his nemesis the Green Goblin. It's more than just super hero versus super villain it has become amazingly and deeply personal. I mean the Green Goblin is not only the father of Spider-man's best friend but he killed the first true love of Spider-man. You can't get any more personal for that. The Green Goblin's hatred of Spider-man is intense. I thought I'd take my favorite versions of the characters in Mugen and see what happens!

Mugen: Etrigan

Volzzilla has posted a great review on Wucash's Etrigan for MUGEN a few months ago. Read that here. I really wanted to say that my favorite part of the character is it's amalgam move where Etrigan combines with Flash and Ghost Rider to from Speed Demon. The character is really a lot of fun. IF you have not tried it out you owe it to yourself to download him and play.

Grudge Match: Baiken vs Elle

If Baiken fought Ella, I think Ella would win. Ella has super natural powers that Baiken does not have. Baiken would be overwhelmed. Here is a fight in MUGEN.

Grudge Match: Baiken vs Mai Shiranui

If Baiken fought Mai, I think it would be a fairly even fight. Mai would have to be serious or Baiken would crush her. I decided to stage a fight in MUGEN to see what would happen!

Mugen: Captain Boomerang

Okay, some people think that the Flash's rogue gallery is a joke, with their limited goals, and gimmicks. But to be honest they are really formidable super villains. Captain Boomerang is one of the best of them. At first the idea of throwing trick boomerangs seems laughable, but watching how well its been adapted for MUGEN really made me re-evaluate the character. You can download him and put him in your MUGEN.

Grudge Match: Baiken vs Wonder Woman

If Baiken (from the Guilty Gear series) fought Wonder Woman, I believe that she would be crushed. Baiken is a great fighter but I think that there is no way she could stand against Wonder Woman.

Mugen: Neo

From time to time I like to do a search for new mugen characters that I don't have. I was searching and found Neo from the Matrix! I got excited. However its a custom character - not neo form scratch and barely reminds me of the character from the Matrix, but feel free to download it.

Grudge Match: Green Goblin vs Hobgoblin

I can only recall one occasion where The Green Goblin fought the Hobgoblin: Amazing Spider-man #312. I remember how excited I was the first time I read it. The thing is neither character was the original. This Green Goblin was Norman's son, Harry Osborn, and the Hobgoblin was the second one. But I wondered what would happen if the originals ever tussled. Fortunately, we can do it in MUGEN.

Grudge Match: Steel vs Lex Luthor

I thought about what would happen if Lex Luthor (in his armor) fought Steel. In my opinion, Steel would win because Steel's armor is better (I think). Luthor is really smart but not smarter in that kind of technology. If he was, I'm sure that he would go all out on Superman and Luthor can't hang. Still it would be a great fight to see. I still think Steel would beat Luthor out of his armor.

Mugen: Baiken

I admit that before I got into MUGEN, I have never really heard of any of the characters in the Guilty Gear series. But this one is interesting. Baiken is a Japanese warrior woman who wields a sword and a cybernetic arm. The translation into MUGEN is great. It is a fun character and if you don't have it, I suggest you add her to any MUGEN game that includes female characters, video game characters, and any game where you want sword wielding characters. Go ahead and download her.

Grudge Match: Green Goblin vs Joker

I was wondering what would happen if Spider-man's greatest foe fought Batman's greatest foe? It would be a blood bath. I have the feeling that the Joker would win because he doesn't care about his own life and Norman Osborn doesn't seem like the suicidal type. The Joker will want to win even if he dies too - if he is motivated enough. But I doubt that it would come to death. It sure would be an epic battle. I decided to see what it would look like in MUGEN.

Mugen: Green Goblin

The Green Goblin is Spider-man's greatest enemy short of Venom. It's no surprise that this was the villain chosen for the first live-action Spider-man movie. He has enhanced speed, reflexes, strength - and insane! For years I'd say he was Spider-man's greatest enemy because in one of the early stories, he disabled Spider-man's spider-sense using a gas and then just followed him around until he saw Spider-man take his mask off. Then Spider-man found out later that the Green Goblin is really Norman Osborn - the father of his best friend, Harry! So for years, Spider-man fought this guy with the knowledge that when this guy had all his memories he could have revealed Peter Parker to the World at any time and that he didn't want to kill his best friend's father! Talk about high drama! And I think it's one of the greatest story arcs that Stan Lee ever wrote when he was on the book. Things have gotten even more convoluted about Norman Osborn in recent years.

Acey over at Infinity Mugen Team has brought the Green Goblin to MUGEN and it is an awesome character. HE is extremely fun to play with. I really recommend downloading and playing with this character! You can download him from the Infinity Mugen Team website like I did.
