Grudge Match - Superman vs Metallo

This is one rivalry that never gets old. Having a cybernetic body powered by Kryptonite - which happens to be Superman's only major weakness - gives Metallo an advantage over Superman. It's always interesting to see what Superman will need to do to win because his victory will not be easy!

Grudge Match: Bishop vs Steel

I think Bishop would most likely beat Steel. Steel wouldn't make it easy for him. Here is how such a scenario might look.

Mugen: Metallo

Drvvdoom has just released recently his first version of Metallo. It is awesome! I really like playing with it. He has a lot of great moves and almost made me forget that I'm not supposed to be rooting for him! You can download him here. Like with all the awesome characters at Justice League Mugen the site is in Spanish and anything you don't understand you can copy/paste text into GoogleTranslate  to get the text into a more comfortable language if you need to.

Grudge Match: Bishop vs Green Lantern (John Stewart)

I wonder if Bishop's power would allow him to absorb green lantern energies. Don't know. But assumming he can't, I don't know if Bishop could win. Here is a scenario in MUGEN.

Lex Luthor updated to v1.5 for Scruffyversary

Download Location listed below: As part of 2010's Scruffyversary Blackest Night week event, Buyog has updated Lex Luthor. He has handled the bulk of the code, and Enzo the bulk of the sprites, but both were flanked by members of the Scruffy Dragon team and forum community.

The sprites look great and just like you would imagine Lex Luthor would look. I especially love the glow effect added to the brand new Oranger Lantern mode which is the main feature of this update. The only sprites I'm not big on is the stance as his lower body just looks a little stiff to me. The sound clips, which were also part of this update, are way above and beyond. His AI might be a little tough to some, but he does use all of his special and hyper moves to the best of his ability.

Every move created for Lex fits perfectly and really gives you a sense of the comic character. All of the moves are very responsive to command, and most are easy to pull off. I am however not a fan of the command string used for Nanite Swarm, so I edited it.

- Kryptonite Ray: Projectile beam with 3 different versions depending on punch button used. Can be done in the air.

- Orange Lantern Kryptonite Ray: Draws the opponent closer. Can be done in the air.
- Greedy Embrace: Grabs the opponent and squeezes with large hand constructs
- Personal Superhero: Creates a construct of Superman who attacks

I love this character but he has a few issues. As privately conveyed to Buyog w/an image, he was seen air-walking in AI testing. The Greedy Embrace special can be an infinite if the player times it perfectly due to not enough time for the opponent to recover. It also looks like he becomes unhitable when Greedy Embrace misses. And the AI can spam Kryptonite Ray a bit. The thing that stands out the most is how the damage can get a little out of hand from various moves being strung together. And the AI can really abuse this with how it can combine moves like Kryptonite Ray with Personal Superhero in a way a human player cannot. But I still like this character very much and I highly recommend him to everyone. Especially how Orange Lantern mode is utilized from the recent Blackest Night comics, making him more unique and fun to use.

Grudge Match: Joker vs Deadpool

What do you get when two of the most insane characters in all of fiction throw down? I think that Deadpool has the edge because he is a ninja. I think the only way Joker could win is by outsmarting the Joker. Here is a video showing a scenario in MUGEN.

Grudge Match: Superman vs Wonder Man

If Superman would fight Wonder Man, I think Wonder Man would loose because Superman just has him outclassed. Here is a possible scenario in MUGEN.

Grudge Match: Venom vs Bizarro

Well here is a match up what if the the villains than mirrored Spider-Man and Superman the most fought one another. I think Venom would win because Venom is smarter than Bizarro although Bizarro is more powerful. Here is a possible scenario!

Grudge Match - Deadpool vs Captain America (Bucky)

Here is a great matchup. Who would win - Bucky or Deadpool. I think Deadpool would win. Here is a likely scenario.

Grudge Match - Caprain America vs Deadpool

Deadpool is cool and all but I really don't think he can beat the original Captain America! Here is how I think such a scenario may go down!

It's always fun to watch arch rivals throw down. You Superman is going to win but it's always fun to see when Luthor puts on that battle armor. Here is a possible scenario.

I really like Iron Man, but I can't come up with a scenario that Iron Man can beat Superman unless he can incorporate kryptonite into his armor. And I know he could do that. Here is a scenario staged in MUGEN

Survive This: The Atom

Last Week it was reported that AngelEcks has released his version of The Atom. I've got to admit that I really like playing with it. It is well done and well worth downloading. I took the character through the survival mode in MUGEN.

Grudge Match: Captain America vs Punisher

I think Captain America would handle the Punisher easily. And won't kill him to boot. Frank Castle is good, but he ain't that good! I staged a possible scenario in MUGEN.

Grudge Match: Galactus vs Superman

Okay, I realize that this would never happen...ever, but just for the fun of it: Could Superman beat Galactus...in a word "No." But I staged a fight in MUGEN anyway.

Grudge Match: Batman vs Galactus

Okay, I realize that this would never happen...ever, but just for the fun of it: Could Batman beat Galactus...in a word "No." But I staged a fight in MUGEN anyway.

Grudge Match: Venom Scorpion vs Venom

Now this is a match up I would love to see in either animation or in the comics. I'm not sure if it's been done yet. But if it were to happen I think Mac Gargan in his new scorpion/venom form would beat original venom because he has all his powers plus Spider-man's powers!

Grudge Match: Spider-man vs Venom

Spider-man and Venom are real archenemies. Venom is almost the embodiment of Spider-man's worst nightmare. I wanted to stage a fight in MUGEN, pitting ZVitor's version of Spider-man with my favorite version of Venom.

Grudge Match:Thor vs Juggernaut

I really don't think Juggernaut has a chance at beating Thor  But I wanted to stage a scenario in MUGEN anyway!

Grudge Match: Batman (Spiderbat's) vs Bane

I was wondering how Spiderbat's version of Batman would fair against Bane with the new AI patch I found out about? Turns out that it does quite well. I like the fight!

Duel Toys 2 Fighting Game

In the spirit of Mugen (in that this was a passion project done as a hobby and for fun), but different, I present to you the recent Duel Toys 2 release by Diefox. This is a unique fighting game that has over 60 fighters from comics, video games, movies, and original creations. But that is not all. There are also RPG elements that blend together between the fights, along with numerous mini games (trivia, racing, etc.) Plus, you can alternate between fighting styles in an effort to collect all of the toys you will use to make your way to the end. Here is the trailer.

Grudge Match: Superman vs Bane

I'm not aware of anytime that Superman fought Bane other than the time Brainiac took control of Bruce Wayne and Superman had to fill in for him as Batman in an episode of the Superman Animated Series. Good times.  I really liked that episode. It made sense to me that Superman would mop the floor with Bane. I decided to try a scenario in MUGEN.
