Mugen: Captain America (Bucky Barnes)

Alienmorph, Magus, and Verz released their Captain America (Bucky version) for MUGEN! This character is awesome and in no way is it just the same old Captain America repainted in different sprites. It is fun and if you have not downloaded it yet I greatly think you should do so soon as possible.

Buyog's Lair : Buyog2099's MUGEN Creations

If you haven't looked at the Buyog's website or Scruffy Dragon, you should because Buyog has shared some developing tools for MUGEN that he has written and use. They are valuable and seems to be must haves if you want to develop characters for MUGEN. Judging by the quality of the characters he releases, they obviously work! He placed them in the Addons section of his website.

Grudge Match: Namor vs Aquaman

I've always wondered who would win in a fight: Aquaman vs Namor. There is a great article on such a scenario: CBUB Fights: Aquaman vs. The Sub-Mariner. As far as my opinion, I think Namor will beat Aquaman into chum. I mean Namor can fly and has super strength. Aquaman can't touch him. Here is a fight in MUGEN.

I've just seen the announcement at Scruffy Dragon Productions that Verz, Alienmorph & Magus have released their version of the new Captain America (Bucky Barnes. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to record a video of the character during game play but along with the character a video was released. Mugen: Ghost Rider

I was pleased to find the announcement over at Scruffy Dragon that WuCash has released his definitive of version of Ghost Rider. for MUGEN. I have to admit that when I saw the beta I did not know that it was leaked.  I don't think its right for a character to be released if the developers don't want it released yet. WuCash deserves a lot of credit for sharing Ghost Rider with the world. He says he has greatly improved it and he is right. If you like comic book character, you should get this downloaded as soon as you can. He has released an intro video for the character and following that one is my demo.

Mugen: Parasite

Buyog has released a new version of Parasite for MUGEN. IT is one of the most ambitious technologically character implementations in MUGEN that I know about. In case you have not seen or used this character before, it actually can steal and use powers from several different Marvel and DC characters for MUGEN. It's truly epic and supports multiple moves and many different characters. Check out Buyog's Parasite page for a complete list of supported characters and moves or check out the readme file.You can Download the character from Buyog's site or you can get it from Scruffy Dragon's site.I have an idea. I'm planning a post where I will create a special deck containing only characters that I have that Parasite interacts with and see what happens.

Survive This: Spiderbat's Batman

I believe Spiderbat's Batman is one of the greatest versions of the character in MUGEN. It is awesome character and extremely fun. I tried it out in MUGEN's survival mode.

Grudge Match: Thor vs Hercules

One of the greatest rivalries in Marvel Comics is Thor vs Hercules! I like to watch these two dust up whenever possible. I think the reason why their struggle is so iconic is that both characters go back so far into cultural identity and history. I mean Thor comes from Norse mythology and Hercules from Hellenistic mythology! I mean what's more iconic than the "my god is better than your god' argument? In a fight, I'd put my money on Thor. I think Thor would wipe Asgard, Midgard, Valhalla, Olympus, and Hades with Hercules backside.

Grudge Match: Ms Marvel vs Zatanna

I think that Zatanna is often thought of as being a second rate character. I still have to admit that I hadn't heard of her before seeing her in the Batman Animated Series and on Justice League Unlimited. However, I've got to admit that she is way more more powerful than I thought - not Dr. Fate tough, but tough enough to get on Ms Marvel's nerves. Ultimately, I think Ms Marvel would win in a dust up between the two.

WIP Focus: Wonderman by rozeros

Due to deanjo2000 winning the Favorite Fiction blog sprite contest at IMT, he was given the chance to select the subject of a WIP Focus article. He decided to go with Wonderman by rozeros.

1) So how did you decide upon bringing Wonderman to Mugen?

Wonderman is Marvel's Superman. He's one of the most powerful heroes in that universe. Sometime ago I saw an edit of him by Deanjo2000 and I was shocked - it was simple and really good looking. I decided to make him, because the project that I'm working on with some of the Scruffy Dragon members (MSH2), needs to have the most powerful and recognizable marvel icons.

2) What influence did Zvitor and JasonTodd's version make upon that decision?

Their version is completely different from mine, from what i saw. I haven't played it much. To be honest I often don't play Mugen, I only do characters. It's a hobby for me. I don't want to compete with them in any way.

3) Please share your thoughts about his general comic back history and about the character in general.

Simon Williams - known as Wonderman, grew up in a rich family, he was an A-student. He owes his powers to Baron Zemo, who gave Simon ionic rays. After that his strength was at 100 ton range - comparable to Thor, Iron Man or Anti-Venom. He's a powerhouse full of ionic energy.

4) So tell the readers what bases you are using for the character and for the various moves themselves.

The main base is Urien/Gill. I used also Cable, Captain America, Necro, Sagat. In the future I plan to use more bases to make him a more original character.

5) I know its early on, but may I ask how the progress going on Wonderman?

Some of the the basics are already sprited and coded, but there's still more stuff to do. I want this character to be my best.

6) What has stood out the most during the creation process in a positive manner to this point? What has been giving you the most trouble?

The best thing is that I have a scheme how I sprite him. I do three steps. Reducing colors, resizing the base, and then adding the details. The hardest thing I think, is making original moves. When I frankesprited a hypermove from Sagat and Captain America, I had to add one extra color, change the structure of the muscles to match Urien's. It takes some time, but I think it's worth it.

7) Did I see something somewhere about 2 modes? Please explain all of that further.

Yes, he will have 2 modes - Normal and Ionic. Ionic mode will be exclusive only to MSH2.

8) What moves might we see that are fairly similar to Zvitor and JasonTodd's version, but with your different take on how the work?

I also will have ionic blasts, and eye beams, but with different positions and effects. As I said earlier - I don't want to compete with them.

9) Beyond what you just said, can you tell us any more about other plans for specials and hypers?

I would like to do a hyper including all west coast avengers. Ionic blasts are inevitable for him. I want to do at least four hypers in each mode.

10) I know it did not work out completely as you envisioned, but tell us about the Wonder Gold competition and what were your motivations to do such in the first place?

I wanted to see how people imagine Wonder Gold, it's always good to achieve help from others. (Editor's note: Trexrell and I won this contest, but it was probably due more to the fact we were the only entrants.)

11) Will she have any intros or winposes with any other comic characters, and if so can you tell us about some of your ideas along those lines please?

He should have custom intros with some chars, I think of Ms. Marvel, Hulk, Ultron. It depends if I get permission from their creators.

12) So what are your general thoughts on beta releases? Can you give a possible timetable on a beta to release and/or a goal for the full release?

I don't have a date when I plan to release him. I can only promise that when I decide to do it, the character will be fun to play with. When I won't have the certainty that I did all I could - I won't release him.

Grudge Match: Hercules vs Wonder Woman

Hercules exists in both the DC and Marvel universes. And Wonder Woman is definitely closely related to the DC Version. Remember that Hercules is a huge part of the Amazon myth from Greek mythology. In the Marvel version I don't think those events happened but I don't think Wonder Woman would care. I think She would hand Hercules his head because she is already angry with Hercules and hates him.  Not without reason. I decided to stage a fight in MUGEN; the video is below.

Grudge Match: Goku vs Deadpool

I wondered what would happen is Goku and Deadpool had a toss up. I think Goku would wipe Deadpool out. I decided to see how my favorite versions of Deadpool and Goku would fare pitted against one another. Check out the video below.

Grudge Match: Superman vs Ms Marvel

If Ms Marvel and Superman fought I think she would have to get in some good shots to make him take her seriously. Fortunately, I don't think that will be a problem. Ms Marvel is powerful enough that she would easily provoke Superman to go all out. - that is of course if he wants to win. Ultimately, I think Superman would eventually beat her.
